Purpose and Objectives:
In this course, you will be challenged to design electric circuits that are required to solve typical electrical problems found in both residential homes and commercial industry. As you explore and practice the skills needed to work with electricity, you will gain some basic knowledge that would be required to work as an electrician or electrical contractor, or to become an electrical engineer.
Particularly target: students from 12 – 18 years old
Knowledge:
- Understand the function of series and parallel circuits
- Identify types of common switches and it function
- Understand how series and parallel circuits work
- Gain knowledge about electric motor and device
Skills:
- Wire circuits using electric lights, resistors, and electromechanical components such as switches
- Use a multimeter to measure voltage, current, and resistance
- Apply the engineering design process
- Apply Ohm’s law
- Design series and parallel circuits and calculate the voltage, resistor, electric current
