Exploring Mechatronics

Purpose and Objectives:

This course provides students chance to explore the automation technology and mechatronic system that exist on the production process. During this course, student will play the role of a mechatronic engineer to design an automation system. They can explore the link of mechanic, electrical engineering and computing engineering to develop and optimize a specific system.

Particularly target: student from 16 – 18 years old

Knowledge:

• Understand the electrical pneumatic system
• Understand the purpose and working rules of object supply station, conveyor and warehouse system
• Understand the function of electrical pneumatic elements
• Understand and apply the PLC
• Analyze the logic circuit

Skills:

• Use the Fluidsim software
• Create and simulate the system of electrical pneumatic
• Understand and apply the MecLab software
• Apply the engineering design process
